Observed Dream Movement

BOOK EXCERPT:

The contents of this book can best be described as a literary collage composed of poems, prose, short commentary and narratives inspired by 65 years of experience and thought. This collection is a loosely bound chronology depicting some of the events, phases and stages that have been integral factors in my emotional, intellectual and spiritual development during my whirlwind sojourn in this world of adventure and struggle. Each entry can be thought of as a metaphysical imprint lingering in the beginningless continuum of the cosmic subconscious wilderness of Zone. I have laced this myriad of concept and perspective which is in essence no more than an overview of developmental stages with glimpses of personal moments and insight to help give a unique flavor and substance to each chapter.

Moving Through Parallel Worlds To Achieve Your Dreams

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Quantum physics has revealed that objects can exist in more than one location simultaneously, even though the objects are invisible to us in all but one location, that is, parallel universes exist. This is most blatantly revealed in the mind shattering 'double-slit' experiment and is at the core of what is called 'the measurement problem,' in quantum physics. The results are startling, but this is what the science is clearly showing. It is human awareness that causes matter to fix into a single position, and reveal a single reality. The science is showing that at every moment we become aware of our reality, the universe splits into unseen parallel dimensions and we become trapped in just one of these many parallel realities. This is all powerful stuff but what does this mean for our lives? What if you could learn how to access these parallel worlds that are being created? What if you could do what many billionaires and great minds in history have done but have only hinted at. What if you could move through parallel realities in order to achieve unfathomable greatness. Abraham Lincoln, Albert Einstein, Michelangelo, Nikola Tesla, Isaac Newton, John D. Rockefeller and many others all used this quantum mind power that is now available to you. This is one of the most powerful books you shall ever read. With research from quantum physics, psychology, biology and behavioral epigenetics, as well as many great spiritual teachings, 'Moving Through Parallel Worlds' will guide you on a path to achieving your grandest ambitions. The title, 'Moving Through Parallel Worlds To Achieve Your Dreams,' is literal - based on the 'Many Worlds Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics,' and it is also a metaphor suggesting positive life transformation. This very night, you shall be reading and then applying the concepts in this book, and that moment will be the starting point of your mastery of wealth, romance, creation, and mastery of all things in the physical world. 'Moving Through Parallel Worlds' draws on science and timeless wisdom, to guide you on a path to unlimited power and enlightenment. 'Moving Through Parallel Worlds To Achieve Your Dreams' will allow you to bridge the discontinuity in your life from the point where you are at right now, to the point where you dream that you can be. This book shall put you into alignment with all that you have imagined possible for yourself and shall show you a path even to that which you may have considered impossible. This book has emerged so that you may be lifted up, and that you may come to realize the power you have to exist in a world that is exactly as you imagine it should be. This is your moment and this book is here, just for you. Enjoy the journey!

Hypnosis

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Although research and practice in hypnosis has seen unprecedented expansion, there has been a definite lack of inclusive and comprehensive surveys to aid the student and researcher. This collection of original chapters written by leading experimental investigators is the first work to offer a current state-of-the-art in hypnosis research. A compendium of the historical background, theories, issues, and trends in hypnosis, this volume represents all major experimental viewpoints while providing a virtual ""who's who"" in the field of hypnosis. The first two chapters (written by the editors) establish the current theoretical base of the field and review the historical background. Seventeen contributions focus directly on key aspects of present day hypnosis research. These contributions are organized as surveys of broad topic areas, descriptions in depth of individual investigator's programmatic lines of research, and reports on research within specific areas, especially those representing new viewpoints and holding promise for programmatic development. A final chapter develops questions for future research.Offering an inclusive survey of the field from its historical inceptions to its current and predictive state, this book presents many new ideas while updating established positions in research and theory. The vital areas covered in connection with hypnosis include: psychophysiology, creativity, dreams, imagination, suggestibility, simulator controls, cognitive activity, and ego-psychological theory. In addition there are chapters on hypnosis as a research method, the measurement of altered states of consciousness, and hypnotic programming techniques in psychological experiments. Hypnosis: Research Developments and Perspectives is written for researchers in hypnosis and clinical practitioners in medicine and psychology. The book will serve as a basic text in all courses in hypnosis at the graduate level.

Seven Kine Fatfleshed A Theory Of Sleep And Dreams

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

As the title (Genesis XLI :18) of the book indicates, interest in dreams goes back at least to Biblical times. It persisted during subsequent years to peak in the 20th century following publication of Sigmund Freud’s major work “The Interpretation of Dreams”. Freud was concerned with the psychology of dreams perhaps because biological science of that era was not ready to provide physiological explanation of the purpose of dreams. Much neuroscience has been discovered in the century since Freud to permit a new view of sleep and dreams. A great deal has been learned about the “what “of sleep: its stages, electrographic accompaniment, eye movements, muscle atonia and behavioral manifestations. There are ideas about the “why” of sleep: restorative processes, protein synthesis, secretion of growth hormone, clearing of adenosine, immunologic enhancement and consolidation of memory. Only a little is known of the “what” of dreams: cerebral areas that are activated and deactivated on imaging studies, cerebral lesions that cause loss of dreaming and a bit about ontogenesis. The “why” of dreams remains uncertain. In this brief monograph, Dr. Locke offers a bold new hypothesis about the purpose of the dream. Following chapters on sleep, memory and the structure of the dream he suggests that one function of sleep and dreams is to establish neurological cellular networks to accept new memories. The muscle atonia of REM sleep deactivates neural networks in motor cortex, cerebellum and basal ganglia to allow them to accept new motor algorithms of procedural memory. The structure of the transient and preparatory dream – its narrative and imagery – is selected during REM sleep by a largely inhibited hippocampus that permits only incomplete retrieval of neural assemblies accounting for the distortion, condensation, fusion and confusion of the dream. New neural assemblies are activated in parietal cortex by dreams that are promptly forgotten to allow the unoccupied network, held in readiness by snaptic tags, to accept new declarative memories in the waking state of the new day.

Mapping The Moving Image

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

In Mapping the Moving Image, Pasi Valiaho offers a compelling study of how the medium of film came to shape our experience and thinking of the world and ourselves. By locating the moving image in new ways of seeing and saying as manifest in the arts, science and philosophy at the turn of the twentieth century, the book redefines the cinema as one of the most important anthropological processes of modernity. Moving beyond the typical understanding of cinema based on optical and linguistic models, Mapping the Moving Image takes the notion of rhythm as its cue in conceptualizing the medium's morphogenetic potentialities to generate affectivity, behaviour, and logics of sense. It provides a clear picture of how the forms of early film, while mobilizing bodily gestures and demanding intimate, affective engagement from the viewer, emerged in relation to bio-political investments in the body. The book also charts from a fresh perspective how the new gestural dynamics and visuality of the moving image fed into our thinking of time, memory and the unconscious.
