Physics Of The Plasma Universe

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

During the past decade our understanding of plasma physics has witnessed an explosive growth due to research in two areas: work directed toward controlled nuclear fusion and work in space physics. This book addresses the growing need to apply these complementary discoveries to astrophysics. Today plasma is recognized as the key element to understanding the generation of magnetic fields in planets, stars and galaxies, the accel- eration and transport of cosmic rays, and many other phenomena occurring in interstellar space, in radio galaxies, stellar atmospheres, quasars, and so forth.

Physics Of The Plasma Universe

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Today many scientists recognize plasma as the key element to understanding new observations in near-Earth, interplanetary, interstellar, and intergalactic space; in stars, galaxies, and clusters of galaxies, and throughout the observable universe. Physics of the Plasma Universe, 2nd Edition is an update of observations made across the entire cosmic electromagnetic spectrum over the two decades since the publication of the first edition. It addresses paradigm changing discoveries made by telescopes, planetary probes, satellites, and radio and space telescopes. The contents are the result of the author's 37 years research at Livermore and Los Alamos National Laboratories, and the U.S. Department of Energy. This book covers topics such as the large-scale structure and the filamentary universe; the formation of magnetic fields and galaxies, active galactic nuclei and quasars, the origin and abundance of light elements, star formation and the evolution of solar systems, and cosmic rays. Chapters 8 and 9 are based on the research of Professor Gerrit Verschuur, and reinvestigation of the manifestation of interstellar neutral hydrogen filaments from radio astronomical observations are given. Using data from the Green Bank 100-m telescope (GBT) of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO), detailed information is presented for a non-cosmological origin for the cosmic microwave background quadruple moment. This volume is aimed at graduate students and researchers active in the areas of cosmic plasmas and space science. The supercomputer and experimental work was carried out within university, National laboratory, Department of Energy, and supporting NASA facilities.

Future Perspectives Of Space Plasma And Particle Instrumentation And International Collaborations

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Future perspectives on space-borne/ground-based state-of-the-art scientific instruments, exploration space missions, and advanced modeling/simulation methods, are intensively discussed from multilateral viewpoints regarding solar-terrestrial physics, space plasma, upper atmospheric observations for the Earth and planets. In addition to innovative technologies, international collaborations have been getting more essential and crucial factors in the space observations/missions. The novel concept, strategy, and promotion in these international collaborations are also main subjects of this conference.

Tranceformers Shamans Of The 21st Century

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Tranceformers: Shamans of the 21st Century is the true story of this author's contact with a "dead" optics physicist colleague and the telepathic communication that sent him searching for scientific answrs to his spiritual questions. Harper draws from this deep well of wisdom: astrology, biology, near-death experiences, paranormal psycholgy, quantum physics as well as Egyptian and Mayan cosmology overall. He does an excellent job of synthesizing massive amounts of information, making this shift of the ages comprehensible to the general reader. Clearly this is a necessary primer to understand the coming apocalypse of biblical proportions in consciousness, climate, culture, and civilization. However, the theme of this book is that by learning to use trance- the techniques employed by mystics, prophets, and shamans- one can unlock the mysteries of existence for themselves. Indeed this is the big idea behind the Eternal Return of the Sun of God in 2012: Self-Empowerment.

She Who Spins The Coils Of Creation

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

"Leslene della-Madre’s book, She Who Spins Creation: Sacred Female Cosmology in the Electric PlasMA Universe, is essential medicine and a much-needed balm for the spirit in these perilous times of toxic masculinity, toxic capitalism, toxic patriarchy, and the perpetuation of the annihilation of women’s wisdom and power (also known as the Inquisition) in which female-embodied existence and wisdom continue to be silenced and every attempt to eradicate us, deny our culture, belittle and erase our knowledge continues to unfold. It is also a master class in how to excavate and reclaim female-embodied experience, wisdom, empowerment, and sovereignty. Della-Madre exposes the misogyny inherent in patriarchal myth and science—from physics to molecular biology—delving into the mysteries of matter, the mammalian egg, mythologies of female origins, the Electric Universe, plasMA cosmology, and much, much more. She invites us to awaken to the reality of a truly female cosmology that has always reflected “as above, so below”—and always will—but that has been denied and subjected to nearly complete erasure in numerous ways by male-dominated realities. In doing so, she invokes us to challenge the amnesia of the ages, question all we have been told about who we are, where we come from, and who we can become. She implores us to “feel our horns and wings again”, and reclaim a world in which we understand that we are all “electric plasMA beings”, intertwined and interconnected, “in tune with the cosmos, the greater organism.” This is the way to heal the violence that has been done to the Earth, Nature, and women by thousands of years of patriarchal colonization. This book is also a clarion call for action—for women to “re-member our magic and to seek guidance from the ancestral realms to help restore us to whole (holy)ness.” This profound book should be made into a documentary series." Mary Saracino, author, LAMBDA award finalist
