This volume constitutes the refereed post-proceedings of the 8th International Workshop on Information Hiding held in Alexandria, Virginia, in July 2006. This book constitutes the joint refereed proceedings of the 8th International Workshop on Structural and Syntactic Pattern Recognition and the 3rd International Workshop on Statistical Techniques in Pattern Recognition, SSPR 2000 and SPR 2000, held in Alicante, Spain in August/September 2000. It begins with a description of the basics of TCP/IP, followed by chapters dealing with network traffic analysis, network monitoring for intrusion detection, host based intrusion detection, and computer viruses and other malicious code.
