My goal is to introduce logical and scientific results and analysis of the observation of the deteriorated state of the Muslim Ummah, which has been dependant over semi-educated, non-Arabic speaking Imams/Mullahs presenting Islam with personal agendas and misinterpretation of the Qur'an due to a foreign language or lack of insight to find solutions to all human issues presented by the Creator for His beloved creature. My sole reference in all the presentation is only the Qur'an to unite the Muslims who have split into various sectarian, political and social divisions through issues like terrorism, Bidaha, misconceptions over human and women's rights, and power struggles, under one umbrella of the Ummah based on One God, one Last Prophet (Muhammad PBUH) with one Holy Book (the Qur'an) for guidance in individual affairs and social justification. Outdated preaching practices (with projection of fear of punishment), mishandling of adolescent anxieties and concerns, intolerant attitudes, and indulging in rituals instead of religious obligations have confused the laypersons and those ignorant of Islam about the original Islmaic intention presented in the Qur'an. I have presented the data for all English-speaking populations settled globally, with logic and observation on scientific tools, at the layperson's mental level to answer the misunderstandings or objection about Islam and the Qur'an. This present publication is a solution to meet this noble mission of Allah for preaching His message to the derailed population, particularly among the Muslims.

Historically, the need for religion for guidance to promote moral ethical values under the concept of a sole Creator has been established by all the followers of the Holy Books. The Qur'an, which is a continuation as a reformed authentic book, has been either ignored to be comprehended with its meanings or misinterpreted for personal motives by its preachers. Therefore, due to the ignorance of the Qur'anic Abrahamic monotheist concept, various sects, extreme groups, and confrontations have been triggered among the Muslims and rival religious groups. As the present century is based on science and technology, intellectuals and truth seekers judge religious values from logical and scientific perspectives. It is a dire necessity in the present era to present Divine knowledge with fundamental concepts and clear misconceptions about Islam with reasoning to attract adolescents and the ignorant toward peace through the Qur'anic treasure of knowledge. Therefore, my presentation of the book, based on these criteria, is about the psychology of religion, basic concepts, and historical aspects for revealing Divine guidance through the Qur'an to Muhammad (PBUH) with his role as Prophet to address the various aspects of human nature. As a student of psychology with experience of observing human beings and current human destruction under religious disputes, I have tried to present all of this according to set scientific standards and tools. It has been written objectively in simple English narration with sole reference to the Qur'an to create insight among laypeople, particularly the adolescents (new generation), towards peace, unity and a balanced life pattern leading to human respect and tolerance in an emerging capitalist society.

As a professor and psychotherapist, I have found that the current Western research is not only subjective and a creation of only the past 125 years ago, it is culturally biased and of limited human personal experiences. Therefore, I have challenged these aspects by narrating the rational, objective and universal fundamental knowledge provided 1,430 years ago by the Creator that comes in action after death in an accountability process without individual discrimination (for example, please see Chapter 1-I). My most difficult task was to pinpoint the causes and solutions of human sufferings and depict the mental health principles presented in the Qur'an 1,430 years ago that turned the ignorant and arrogant tribal Arab people into the most civilized, model nation of the world. They turned out to be leaders in various faculties of science, technology and social sciences. I have not only presented the analysis but also the solutions for its application in daily life affairs (please see Chapter 9-I). My sole mission is to provide logical and authentic knowledge of the Qur'an throughout the world for creating insight among laypeople that the Creator knows better about His human being (a deputy and the most desired creature on earth) who gets derailed, becomes extremist and arrogant under worldly persuasions, and forgets the ultimate end of life. The solutions and guidelines to pass a moderate, purposeful life are available but one has to open up, understand and act on the given directions. I believe that my contribution in these books is the first time that APA-standardized tools have been applied, along with direct references to the Qur'an, for the adolescents, truth-seekers, and psychologists. I think at this age level, I must contribute all my energy to pass on this message to everyone.

Foundations of Islāmic Psychology: From Classical Scholars to Contemporary Thinkers examines the history of Islāmic psychology from the Islāmic Golden age through the early 21st century, giving a thorough look into Islāmic psychology’s origins, Islāmic philosophy and theology, and key developments in Islāmic psychology. In tracing psychology from its origins in early civilisations, ancient philosophy, and religions to the modern discipline of psychology, this book integrates overarching psychological principles and ideas that have shaped the global history of Islāmic psychology. It examines the legacy of psychology from an Islāmic perspective, looking at the contributions of early Islāmic classical scholars and contemporary psychologists, and to introduce how the history of Islāmic philosophy and sciences has contributed to the development of classical and modern Islāmic psychology from its founding to the present. With each chapter covering a key thinker or moment, and also covering the globalisation of psychology, the Islāmisation of knowledge, and the decolonisation of psychology, the work critically evaluates the effects of the globalisation of psychology and its lasting impact on indigenous culture. This book aims to engage and inspire students taking undergraduate and graduate courses on Islāmic psychology, to recognise the power of history in the academic studies of Islāmic psychology, to connect history to the present and the future, and to think critically. It is also ideal reading for researchers and those undertaking continuing professional development in Islāmic psychology, psychotherapy, and counselling.

This book contains the various works which were presented and discussed in a conference on “Towards the Construction of A contemporary Islamic Educational Theory” which was held in Amman, Jordan in in July of 1990. The conference was collaboration between IIIT and ISRA (Islamic Studies and Research Association).

Ten years have passed since the Mental Health Act (MHA) 2007 came into force in England. An amending statute, the Act reformed the MHA 1983 and reshaped the law governing the compulsory care and treatment of people suffering from mental disorders. Primarily driven by concerns about risk, it sought to remove legalistic obstacles to civil commitment and extend the law's coercive reach into the community. At the time of its introduction, the 2007 Act was written off as a retrograde step and a missed opportunity for radical, rights-focused reform. Despite this, little attention has been paid to its impact in the years since. Published to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the 2007 Act, this book offers a timely evaluation of mental health law and policy in England. It argues that the current MHA defies easy categorisation within any of the descriptive models which have customarily narrated the mechanics of civil commitment, namely 'legalism', 'new legalism', and 'medicalism'. It therefore makes the case for a new model – new medicalism – to account for the 2007 Act's enhancement of the discretion of mental health professionals for the express purposes of facilitating the management of situations of risk. In doing so, the book: critically examines the problems inherent in civil commitment frameworks organised around the concept of risk; explores the theoretical foundations of new medicalism; considers the challenges facing proponents of future reform in the era of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities; and, reflects on the 2007 Act's practical impact.

This book provides academic and clinical institutions for developing their educational programmes in psychology, psychotherapy, and counselling from an Islāmic paradigm. Examining the educational approach in the decolonisation of psychology curricula, the book proposes a vertically and horizontally integrated, embedded curriculum model. This model meets the changing needs of practitioners, incorporating indigenous cultural aspects and emerging technologies to reflect new and creative ways of thinking about delivering education in the post Covid-19 era. The chapters also demonstrate how curriculum development, based on the principles of Islamic education, helps institutions to establish purpose, define activities, and guide decision making in educational development.
