The seventh Ettore Majorana International School of Mathematical Physics was :Jeld at the Centro della Cultura Scientifica Erice. Sicily, 1-15 July 1988. The present volume collects lecture notes on the session which was entitled Con8tructive Quantum Field Theory lI. The II refers to the fact that the first such school in 1973 was devoted ,0 the same subject. The school was a NATO Advanced Study Institute sponsored Jy the Italian Ministry of Scientific and Technological Research and the Regional 3icilian Government. At the time of the 1973 Erice School on Constructive Field Theory, the speakers :ould summarize a decade of effort on the solution of superrenormalizable models in two dimensional space-time leading to the verification of the axioms of relativistic :J. uantum field theory for these examples. The resulting lecture notes have proved ,0 be exceptionally useful and are still in print. In the decade and a half that have ~lapsed since that time, there has been much hard work with the ultimate objective of providing a rigorous mathematical foundation for the quantum field theories in four iimensional space-time that summarize a large fraction of our current understanding )f elementary particle physics: QCD and the electroweak theory. The lecture notes )f the 1988 school record the fact that, although this objective has not been reached, Important progress has been made. The ultraviolet stability of Yang-Mills theory In four dimensions has been treated and renormalizable (not superrenormalizable) models in two dimensional space-time, Gross-Neveu models, have been solved.

The Seventh ARTA (“Advances in Representation Theory of Algebras VII”) conference took place at the Instituto de Matemáticas of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, in Mexico City, from September 24–28, 2018, in honor of José Antonio de la Peña's 60th birthday. Papers in this volume cover topics Professor de la Peña worked on, such as covering theory, tame algebras, and the use of quadratic forms in representation theory. Also included are papers on the categorical approach to representations of algebras and relations to Lie theory, Cohen–Macaulay modules, quantum groups and other algebraic structures.

This book is intended as a text for graduate students and as a reference for workers in probability and statistics. The prerequisite is honest calculus. The material covered in Parts Two to Five inclusive requires about three to four semesters of graduate study. The introductory part may serve as a text for an undergraduate course in elementary probability theory. Numerous historical marks about results, methods, and the evolution of various fields are an intrinsic part of the text. About a third of the second volume is devoted to conditioning and properties of sequences of various types of dependence. The other two thirds are devoted to random functions; the last Part on Elements of random analysis is more sophisticated.

From April 1, 1984 until March 31, 1991 the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft has sponsored the project "Representation Theory of Finite Groups and Finite Di mensional Algebras". The proposal for this project was submitted by B. Huppert (Mainz), B. Fischer (Bielefeld), G. Michler (Essen), H. Pahlings (Aachen) and C. M. Ringel (Bielefeld) in order to strengthen the interaction between the different re search areas in representation theory. The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft has given many research positions and fellowships for young algebraists enabling them to do research at their own uni versities or as visitors at well known research institutions in America, Australia, England and France. The whole project benefitted very much from an extensive exchange programme between German and American scientists sponsored by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and by the National Science Foundation of the United States. This volume presents lectures given in a final conference and reports by members of the project. It is divided into two parts. The first part contains seven survey articles describing recent advances in different areas of representation theory. These articles do not only concentrate on the work done by the German research groups, but also inform on major developments of the subject at all. The volume omits those topics already treated in book form. In particular, it does not contain a survey on K.

These proceedings report a number of lecture series delivered during the Workshop on Representation Theory of Algebras and Related Topics held at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) in August 1994. The workshop was dedicated to recent advances in the field and its interaction with other areas of mathematics, such as algebraic geometry, ring theory, and representation of groups. The program of the Workshop consisted of 9 lecture series. In addition there was a Tame Day consisting of 6 lectures reporting on the recent advances in the study of tame algebras and their module categories. During the Workshop there was a session devoted to the exhibition of computer programs developed by participants. These programs are implementations of algorithms related to the calculation of important aspects of algebras and their module categories.

Expanding upon the material delivered during the LMS Autumn Algebra School 2020, this volume reflects the fruitful connections between different aspects of representation theory. Each survey article addresses a specific subject from a modern angle, beginning with an exploration of the representation theory of associative algebras, followed by the coverage of important developments in Lie theory in the past two decades, before the final sections introduce the reader to three strikingly different aspects of group theory. Written at a level suitable for graduate students and researchers in related fields, this book provides pure mathematicians with a springboard into the vast and growing literature in each area.
