They immiigrated to America ca. 1745 and settled in Cumberland Co., Pennsylvania. Samuel and Margaret were the parents of five sons and five daughters. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, Virginia, Missouri, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Washington, California and elsewhere.

They settled first in Cambridge and then moved to Rhode Island in 1660. Samuel and Elizabeth were the parents of seven children. Descendants live in Rhode island and other parts of the United States.
