Isham Purdy (1790-1881) married Roxcea Wiley in Vermont, and moved to Illinois in 1832. Descendants and relatives lived throughout the United States.

Francis Purdy (ca. 1650-between 1722-1725) was born at Fairfield, Connecticut, the son of Francis Purdy (ca. 1616-1658), the immigrant. He and his wife, Mary Lane?, had six children, ca. 1676-ca. 1690. He died at Rye, New York. Descendants listed lived in New York, Connecticut, Missouri, Kansas, and elsewhere.

Samuel French (1687-763) was born in Bradford Abbas, Dorset, England, the son of Samuel and Susannah French. He and his wife, Mary Price (d. 1775), had eleven children, ca. 1710-1730. The family immigrated to America, ca. 1715 and were living at Stratford, Fairfield County, Connecticut, in 1722. Samuel and Mary French are buried in the old cemetery east of Huntington Center, Fairfield County, Connecticut. Descendants lived in Connecticut, Vermont, New York, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Ontario, and elsewhere.

Joseph, Daniel, and Samuel Purdy were sons of Joseph Purdy (died ca. 1709) and his wife Elizabeth. They all lived in Rye, New York. The book is a compilation of information about them and their children, taken from numerous sources.

William Samuel Marsh, son of Mathias Marsh and Priscilla Brigham, was born 10 Jan 1738 at Coventry, Connecticut. He married Sarah French, daughter of Jeremiah French and Hannah Edwards, about 1760. They had 9 children. William died 9 June 1816 at East Dorset, Vermont, and Sarah died there on 29 Mar 1820. Their descendants have lived in Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, other places in the United States, and Canada.
