Through different aspects of faith, this book will endeavor to encourage the downtrodden to rise above whatever storm or fiery dart of Satan is trying to engulf them. Whether we are facing sin, sickness, grief, financial difficulty, etc., it is the same principle of faith to disable the fiery darts. As we look around, we see some Christians overcoming whatever storm is flung at them, while others are being overcome by the storm. The severity of the storm is not the question--the question is, why do some overcome, and others go under? Whenever we confront a supernatural enemy in our flesh, we will lose the battle. If we confront in the supernatural armor of God, we will disable and quench the enemy's fiery darts. Supernatural faith happens when we are empowered through our union with Christ and draw our strength from the power and ability of God's strength. Supernatural faith disables, quenches, and annihilates all fiery darts of unbelief, doubt, fear, anxiety, sickness, disease, etc. When we stand in God's supernatural faith, his supernatural armor is indestructible and what He has promised will be manifested.

Many of God’s soldiers are overwhelmed with daily struggles. We feel we are getting nowhere and see no light at the end of the tunnel. We are worn out from the never-ending warfare. We want life easier and are beginning to wonder if we can continue to fight the good fight of faith. Fatigue has enticed us to seek the distractions in this world. We are living in the now instead of focusing upon our future inheritance. Eternity is no longer our top priority. We have forgotten that this life is a vapor that will fade away, whereas eternity is forever. It is imperative for us to realign our focus upon eternity and what is necessary to finish our race. Inheriting all things is contingent upon overcoming. If we are to fight the good fight of faith and run the race set before us with patience, we have to take authority, be the aggressor, be the strong force over the enemy of our souls. As you read through the pages, allow the Holy Spirit to open your eyes of enlightenment, to encourage you to continue, to reveal aggressive warfare and how to run your race with resolute endurance until the finish!

With all the turmoil and unrest in our nation, it seems many have turned our eyes away from the prize we began this race to win. We have forgotten we are not running for a corruptible crown that will fade away. We have forgotten we chose to run this race because we desired to win the incorruptible crown. Our cross of self-denial has become too cumbersome and our race too arduous, too demanding. We have become more concerned with enjoying this life instead of running for the prize of the future. Because we are centered on the now and not the future, we have lost the desire to persevere. As we focus upon this life, we are daily enticed to meander onto the wide and broad path. This book is written to ignite the fire in us to persevere and focus on our eternal glory and not this life. We will be encouraged to keep running as we remember our light afflictions of this life are for a season, whereas winning our incorruptible crown is forever.

How many times do we wonder why we are ill-prepared for the darkness that tries to assail us daily and become victims instead of victors? It is all based on the soil/ground into which the seed of knowledge, the promise, the revelation is sown that determines what is done during the darkness and the results of our harvest. Faith is a vital topic in Christian theology. However, the concept is more complex than is assumed. John Stott writes: "One wonders if there is any Christian quality more misunderstood than faith." We demonstrate that Scripture uses faith in a variety of ways, including saving faith, false faith, miracle faith, empowering faith, and visionary faith. Failure to recognize this leads to serious error in both Arminianism and charismaticism. Included is an extended section on visionary faith that enables us to step out in courage, taking risks to pursue human plans to fulfill God's commands. In our defense of the fact that biblical faith must rest on biblical revelation, we critique the inclusivism of John Wesley, Billy Graham, and C. S. Lewis which claims salvation can be apart from a revelation of the Gospel. Finally, we demonstrate that the strength of our faith depends on reason, and the evidences it perceives and evaluates. There is no such thing as a biblical "leap of faith" apart from reason.

The doctrines of covenant, faith, and the order of salvation are crucial components of early modern Reformed soteriology. In seventeenth-century England, these three major doctrines of Reformed theology, which had been taken over undeveloped from the Reformers, took a mature shape, but aroused controversies among diverse Protestant groups. Modern historical scholarship on Reformed orthodoxy has produced little significant research that deals with these doctrines synthetically. This examination explores the broader role of faith in relation to these two significant doctrines for salvation in the early modern Reformed theology, with specific reference to the thought of Thomas Goodwin. To this end, Hyo-Nam Kim examines Goodwin's life to review his religious experience and to understand his socio-theological context. Goodwin's soteriology was sharpened by his battles on two fronts: The first is the threat of Arminian, Neonomian, and Socinian soteriologies that tended to place meritorious value on faith and on human acts. The second is the Antinomian errors that undervalued faith and human responsibility. Goodwin regarded faith as a key concept for his soteriology. Faith plays a central role in the covenant theology not only because a lack of faith was the immediate cause of breaking the covenant of works, but because saving faith was ordained in the covenant of redemption, and actually functions in the covenant of grace, as the instrument and a condition for the recovery of the relationship of mankind with God. Examination of Goodwin's ordo salutis provides specific insight into the place and function of faith in the covenant of grace since each element of an ordo salutis refers to the blessings prepared for the elect to be finally saved. Together with the role of faith in Goodwin's covenant theology, therefore, the reconstruction of Goodwin's ordo salutis and the close examination of the role of faith in each blessing confirm that although faith may be said to be both an instrument and a condition for salvation, faith is the perfect instrument both for making salvation totally God's gracious work, and for showing that the elect are not passive objects in the covenant.
