BOOK EXCERPT:
Exchange the lies of hurtful labels and wrong thinking for the truth of who God created you to be! From an early age Alex Seeley was told she was an accident, but she also carried the weight of feeling stupid. Labels like these, sometimes spoken over us by well-meaning people, can cause us to believe lies about ourselves that make us question why we were born and what our purpose on earth could be. Yet, according to Psalm 139, God designed us in His image with a unique DNA and amazing characteristics! We are loved and created for a purpose that only we can fulfill. In Tailor Made, Alex helps us recognize our wrong thinking often brought on by generational patterns, insecurities, circumstances, lack of forgiveness, and an inaccurate view of God our Father, and offers to replace them with a new view of who God says we are. It’s time to find your own sense of belonging and the path to becoming the original, authentic version of you that God intended!

Tailor-Made Polysaccharides in Drug Delivery provides extensive details on all the vital precepts, basics and fundamental aspects of tailored polysaccharides in the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industry for understanding and developing high quality products. The book offers a comprehensive resource to understand the potential of the materials in forming new drug delivery methods. It will be useful to pharmaceutical scientists, chemical engineers, and regulatory scientists and students actively involved in pharmaceutical product and process development of tailored-made polysaccharides in drug delivery applications. The utilization of natural polymeric excipients in numerous healthcare applications demand the replacement of the synthetic polymers with the natural ones due to their biocompatibility, biodegradability, economic extraction and readily availability. The reality behind the rise in importance of these natural materials is that these sources are renewable if grown in a sustainable means and they can tender incessant supply of raw materials. Amongst these natural polymers, polysaccharides are considered as excellent excipients because of its non-toxic, stable, biodegradable properties. Several research innovations have been made on applications of polysaccharides in drug delivery. - Provides methodologies for the design, development and selection of tailor-made, natural polysaccharides in drug delivery for particular therapeutic applications - Includes illustrations that demonstrate the mechanism of biological interaction of tailor-made polysaccharides - Discusses the regulatory aspects and demonstrates the clinical efficacy of tailor-made polysaccharides

BOOK EXCERPT:
This book seeks to address two questions. The first is the question of what happens when fathers are absent from the lives of their children. This book is written from the female perspective so it focuses on the father daughter relationship. The second question it addresses is that of what happens when those who have had a fractured relationship come to know God as a father; does it change them and if so what does the change look like? The author hopes to share personal experiences that she has had to navigate in her own relationship with her father. She uses her love of poetry throughout the book to engage the reader from a different perspective.

Inhaltsangabe:Abstract: A healthy economy requires healthy enterprises. In turn, an enterprise stands and falls with the health, i.e. efficiency and commitment of its most important creation of value factor, the employee. Directly visible or also invisible time missed by temporary losses or chronic duration illnesses, high fluctuation, poor motivation, poor creativity and service quality, missing emotional tie with the enterprise or inner notice weaken not only the competition ability and the stock of an enterprise, but charge the national economy and the health system altogether. According to model calculations by the Federal Institute of Maintenance of Industrial Health and Safety Standards from the year 1998, enterprises in Germany spend about 28.4 billion euros per annum for employees fallen ill directly. The damage by a direct illness conditional production loss is estimated at about 45 billion euros per annum. The complete economic damage among others due to high time missed, low motivation, productivity, etc. amount to a valued sum for the federal territory between 234 and 245 billion euros per annum. Tailormade interventions to the worksite health promotion support companies to maintain and to promote the health, i.e. efficiency and performance readiness of their employees, to lower direct and indirect time missed and therefore illness costs. Among others, Heuchert et al. point at a prevention potential not exhausted until now. The health insurance companies can carry out measures of the operational health support completing the maintenance of industrial health and safety standards. So the legal order of the health insurance companies in the context of the Code of Social Law to take up and to realize interventions, which contains a high potential for enterprises. In accordance with a study of the federal ministry for health and social affairs (BMGS), about 45% of the legally scheduled budget was used for health support by health insurance companies in the year 2002. The judging size provided by the year 2002 amounted to Euro 2.56 per annum, Euro 1.19 per insured was spent in the year 2002, according to the study. However, it is assumed that the health potential lying in § 20 SGB V is neither exhausted by health insurance companies nor enterprises on a full scale yet. The topic seems rather [...]

BOOK EXCERPT:
The plague outbreak of 1636 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne was one of the most devastating in English history. This hugely moving study looks in detail at its impact on the city through the eyes of a man who stayed as others fled: the scrivener Ralph Tailor. As a scrivener Tailor was responsible for many of the wills and inventories of his fellow citizens. By listening to and writing down the final wishes of the dying, the young scrivener often became the principal provider of comfort in people’s last hours. Drawing on the rich records left by Tailor during the course of his work along with many other sources, Keith Wrightson vividly reconstructs life in the early modern city during a time of crisis and envisions what such a calamitous decimation of the population must have meant for personal, familial, and social relations.

BOOK EXCERPT:
Both evocative and magical, Zanzibar offers travellers the quintessential Indian Ocean experience; palm fringed coastlines, powder- white sand, and colourful aquatic life.Passionate about detail, Chris and Susan McIntyre have carried out extensive on-the-ground research in producing this updated edition. There has been significant growth in the number of hotels, lodges and guesthouses on all three main islands since the last edition and, consequently, the accommodation listings have increased significantly: notably in Zanzibar Town (Stone Town), Matemwe, Michamvi Peninsula, and Mafia island. They visited all the accommodation listed. With almost 300 properties featured, many are newly built and the vast majority (spanning all budget levels) do not feature in any other guide on the market. Each entry has a detailed description with a strong emphasis on guiding readers to the most ethical options. Zanzibar goes into far greater depth than its competitors on the natural environment, history, culture, and sights. Few other guide books cover the islands of Pemba and Mafia in any detail and yet they are easily combined in a trip. With a focus on the environment, visitors are directed towards fair-trade shopping opportunities and sustainable marine parks. This new edition also includes a dedicated section on southern Tanzanian safaris, making this guide excellent for readers looking for a bush and beach combination. Advice is given on how to be sensitive to the local Muslim culture. Bradt's guide is the most frequently and scrupulously updated guide available, vital for a destination with tourism growing and changing so rapidly.
