Stephen Brygges of Bucklesham, England died ca. 1539 His descendant, Walter Briggs came to New England before 1642 and settled in Scituate, Massachusetts. Descendants lived in Massachusetts and elsewhere. James Otis, son of Richard Oates of Glastonbury, England settled in Massachusetts in the late 1630's.
