Philippians 3:20, 21: For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. The Blessed Hope of the Church is the churchs glorification and departure from the earth. It is the event by which the Son of Man brings many sons to glory (Hebrews 2:10). This is not a made-up doctrine contrived by the thoughts of man. All biblical principles and truths speak of the validity of this teaching and its occurrence before the coming tribulation. For the believer/church, the rapture is its sure and steadfast hope, its constant expectation.

Jesus Christ is coming again! That is the Blessed Hope which has since the earliest days of the Church energized Biblical Christians looking for the full revelation of God's redemption. The author sketches the history of interpretations of Christ's second coming and then carefully and lucidly examines the Biblical passages on which this doctrine is based. His conclusion is that the Blessed Hope is the second coming of Jesus Christ, not a pretribulation rapture that believers in a secret coming of Jesus. Yet he concludes that there should be liberty and charity within the Christian community for all who hold to the expectation of "the blessed hope and appearing in glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ."

The following book is a collection of sermons delivered by Dwight L. Moody. He was an American evangelist and publisher connected with Keswickianism, who founded the Moody Church, Northfield School and Mount Hermon School in Massachusetts, Moody Bible Institute and Moody Publishers. One of his most famous quotes was "Faith makes all things possible... Love makes all things easy." Moody gave up his lucrative boot and shoe business to devote his life to revivalism, working first during the American Civil War with Union troops through YMCA in the United States Christian Commission.
