This article aims to analyze the modern evolving environment in which disruptive technologies and trends such as the internet of things, robotics, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence influence how people live and work. The article moves with the notion that the Fourth Industrial Revolution has been influencing the modern-day society in many aspects. For example, the functioning of most businesses today differs from how they operated two decades ago. From the digitalization of working documents to the cataloging of information within and out of companies in Africa and beyond, the Fourth Industrial Revolution is gaining ground. This paper articulates that despite the rapidity of the development of the fourth industrial revolution and the disruptiveness of its associated technologies, it has neither succeeded nor will it succeed soon to influence how people live and work in a typical African setting.

What will happen when technology begins to operate from within the body? What are smart houses and smart cities, and what limit will genetic manipulation have? Beyond agreeing or not with the guidelines of "the Great Reset" proposed by Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum (WEF), there are some aspects that we must debate as soon as possible, because they already affect us (such as privacy, information management and cybersecurity) and because we need a clear regulatory framework about the limits that we will put on the manipulation of bodies, either by incorporating chips or devices or by the so-called "perfective improvement".
