There's no passion like the love of a soldier. The Gettysburg Ghost series consists of three individual yet interconnected stories of eternal love between ghosts of Civil War soldiers and modern-day women who live and work in the historic town of Gettysburg. The first book concerns Confederate soldier Jesse Spenser, who died in the battle of Gettysburg more than a century ago. He's in love with Lucy, a waitress who works in a tavern in town. He aches to approach her and tell her how he feels, but she's terrified of ghosts. The second book concerns Theresa, a psychology student who counsels the weary spirits of Civil War soldiers to help guide them to Heaven. She was supposed to help Sean cross over. She wasn't supposed to fall in love. The third book concerns Remy, a young woman who runs ghost tours but doesn't believe in ghosts. Little does she know, she has a ghostly secret admirer. Unseen, Private Avery O'Rorke frequently joins Remy on her nightly ghost tours, and has fallen in love with her. The Gettysburg Ghost Series is a three-book paranormal romance series with adult content and is intended for mature audiences only. BOOK EXCERPT:
Phantom Gettysburg discusses the contemporary alternative version of a perceived haunted battlefield. In order to understand this alternative perception, contemporary anomalous phenomena must be affixed to and analyzed within their exact historical setting and social context. An ethnographic model of mid-19thc. American culture is used as the basis for this analysis. Specifically, the cultural beliefs relative to the concepts of death and the afterlife, as it was envisioned by these soldiers, is the basis for this model. This historical ethnographic analysis serves two purposes. First, it is a means to legitimize the methodology and fieldwork practices of ghost research. Second, it is meant to analyze the Gettysburg experience and its haunting uncertainty in its historical and sociocultural environment. The conclusion that is drawn from this comparative approach alters the reality and representation of an interactive ghostly battlefield presence. A Gettysburg haunted by Civil War soldiers is considered, for the most part, a phantom experience.

In the silent whispers of night, when shadows cloak the world and an unsettling stillness hangs in the air, a lost realm awaits where past and present intertwine. This is a realm where echoes of bygone eras linger, the unfulfilled and forgotten roam freely, and the unseen make their presence known in the most chilling ways. "100 True and Terrifying Ghost Stories" offers a haunting invitation into this spectral world. This book is a compendium of the uncanny and unexplained, presenting a diverse collection of spectral encounters from across the globe— from China to America, Peru to London. These are true events that defy logical explanation and challenge our understanding of reality. Within these pages, you will meet spirits that wander ancient castles and bloody battlefields, phantoms haunting suburban homes and bustling city streets, and apparitions manifesting in unexpected places. Encounters range from mildly unsettling to downright terrifying, featuring playful poltergeists and vengeful wraiths. Each narrative offers a glimpse into a world where the ordinary and extraordinary collide, and the living and the dead share a tenuous coexistence. So, turn the page, and let the journey begin. But be warned: once you enter the world of the supernatural, you may find it hard to leave. The spirits within these pages are waiting to tell their stories, and they have been waiting for someone like you to listen.

Ghosts of Gettysburg: Walking on Hallowed Ground is a keep-you-up-all-night book from real life master ghost hunters, Drs. Dave and Sharon Oester, cofounders of the International Ghost Hunters Society, the largest ghost research society on the Internet. Drs. Dave and Sharon Oester spend their time traveling the back roads of America, investigating some of its most haunted places. Over a six-year period, they explored and recorded the amazing ghostly experiences of visitors to the Gettysburg battlefield. One year they devoted a full month for battlefield investigations and drove over 1,000 miles on the battlefield gathering data for this book. Drs. Dave and Sharon Oester were the first to hold ghost conferences in Gettysburg teaching about ghost photography and electronic voice phenomena known as EVP. Their annual ghost conferences started the ghost hunting movement in Gettysburg. Drs. Dave and Sharon Oester share 40 haunted sites on the battlefield, not according to folklore, but from their own personal investigations using scientific tools to validate the existence of ghosts. Each haunted site contains a short history of its part in this three-day battle. Read about the ten most haunted Civil War hospitals sites that can be visited by the reader.

BOOK EXCERPT:
The site of North America's greatest battle is a national icon, a byword for the Civil War, and an American cliché. Described as "the most American place in America," Gettysburg is defended against commercial desecration like no other historic site. Yet even as schoolchildren learn to revere the place where Lincoln delivered his most famous speech, Gettysburg's image generates millions of dollars every year from touring, souvenirs, reenactments, films, games, collecting, and the Internet. Examining Gettysburg's place in American culture, this book finds that the selling of Gettysburg is older than the shrine itself. Gettysburg entered the market not with recent interest in the Civil War nor even with twentieth-century tourism but immediately after the battle. Founded by a modern industrial society with the capacity to deliver uniform images to millions, Gettysburg, from the very beginning, reflected the nation's marketing trends as much as its patriotism. Gettysburg's pilgrims--be they veterans, families on vacation, or Civil War reenactors--have always been modern consumers escaping from the world of work and responsibility even as they commemorate. And it is precisely this commodification of sacred ground, this tension between commerce and commemoration, that animates Gettysburg's popularity. Gettysburg continues to be a current rather than a past event, a site that reveals more about ourselves as Americans than the battle it remembers. Gettysburg is, as it has been since its famous battle, both a cash cow and a revered symbol of our most deeply held values.
