William Gibson (ca. 1715-1813) migrated to America before the Revolutionary War and settled in Fauquier County, Virginia. He was the father of at least eight children, ca. 1754-ca. 1766. Descendants listed lived in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, and elsewhere.

The Thompson Family The Thompson family originally hails from Scotland. The earliest known ancestor is Thomas Thompson, who was born in 1545 in Glasgow. Matthew Thompson (1692-1753) emigrated from County Donegal, Ireland to Philadelphia, in 1732. He then moved to Virginia in 1741. The Thompsons were Scotch-Irish Presbyterians.

Daniel Johnston (ca. 1736-ca. 1822) married Ann Thompson, and they immigrated from Scotland to Cumberland County, North Carolina. Direct descendant, William Dalrymple Johnson (1818-1901) moved from North Carolina to Marlboro County, South Carolina, and married Sarah Elizabeth McCall. Descendants lived in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and elsewhere. Includes Johnson (Johnston) and McCall ancestors. Includes noble ancestry in England, France and elsewhere.

Edward Grant (1632-1682) is believed to have emigrated from Scotland. He married Sarah Ware ca. 1655 or 1656, probably in Boston. They had two children, 1658-1660. He died June 19, 1682 and was buried in Copp's Hill Burial Ground, Boston. Descendants listed through 1996.

David Samuel Ware (1857-1936) married Amanda Roselee Chesteen in 1877 at Durant, Holmes County, Mississippi. They later moved from Holmes County to Montgomery County, Mississippi.
