Follows the format of the Family Law Act 1996 by taking each section (or schedule) individually and cross-referencing it against existing law. Where relevant, the text refers to the Law Commission's recommendations in their 1900 report and to the Hansard reports.

Created around the world and available only on the Web, internet "television" series are independently produced, mostly low budget shows that often feature talented but unknown performers. Typically financed through online crowd-funding, they are produced with borrowed equipment and volunteer casts and crews, and viewers find them through word of mouth or by chance. The second in a first-ever set of books cataloging Internet television series, this volume covers in depth the drama and mystery genres, with detailed entries on 405 shows from 1996 through July 2014. In addition to casts, credits and story lines, each entry provides a website, commentary and episode descriptions. Index of performers and personnel are included.

This hearing examined issues related to H.R. 3508, the Children's Privacy Protection and Parental Empowerment Act of 1996, which prohibits the sale of personal information about children without parents' written consent, and the use of prisoner labor to process personal information about children. The Act also establishes a criminal penalty for exchanging information about a child while knowing or having reason to believe that the information will be used to harm the child. Witnesses included representatives from the direct mail industry and professional organizations, a public policy research group, a child protection organization, and a university; Marc Klass, father of murder victim Polly Klass; New Jersey Representative Bob Franks; and a law enforcement officer. Proponents of the legislation contended that self-regulation has not succeeded in establishing adequate privacy safeguards. Commercial list companies are compiling an elaborate data base on every American child; these data are available for purchase by any interested party and over the Internet. Such availability invades children's privacy and creates a potentially dangerous situation for them because such information is available to pedophiles, and especially because prison labor is often used to process consumer surveys into list data. Opponents to the proposed legislation questioned that commercial mailing lists could be used by pedophiles to locate victims and contended that the legislation would restrict university identification of potential students, limit distribution of educational materials such as children's books, and would interfere with military recruitment. This volume includes the full proceedings from the 1996 Multicultural Marketing Conference presented by the Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) and Old Dominion University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The 1996 National Household Education Survey (NHES:96) was a random digit dial telephone survey of households that was developed by the National Center for Education Statistics and conducted by Westat, Inc. The NHES:96 included two topical survey components, "Parent and Family Involvement in Education," (PFI) which collected data about family involvement in children's schooling, and "Civic Involvement," (CI) which collected data about participation in civic activities and attitudes toward government. This manual provides documentation and guidance for users of the four public release data files of the NHES:96: the Household and Library File, the PFI and CI files, the Youth Civic Involvement file, and the Adult Civic Involvement File. Volume I contains information about the purpose of the study, the data collection instruments, the sample design, and data collection and data processing procedures. Volumes II through V each contain a guide to the data file and its codebook, a discussion of data considerations and anomalies, and, in appendixes, the file layout and additional information.
