The Great Tithing Scam

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Some have said that the word scam is too strong for a book that argues against the church's most sacred cow, but scam is exactly the right word because tithing has been put forth as a duty that will earn that which Christ suffered and died to freely give us. Not only is it wrong to suggest that tithing will do what Christ died to do, such as open heaven or make one right with God, but such teaching is an insult to His sacrifice and in reality, an enemy to the Cross even as circumcision was in the early church. Our ministers have been naively leading the church back under the Old Testament Law, and its curse, with imagined tithing promises that have gone way beyond even that which Malachi promised. Under the guise of obedience, faithfulness and stewardship, we've been duped into believing we must prove ourselves without realizing that practicing the Law (tithing) blocks us from becoming sons and heirs according to Galatians 4: 5. Do you know that The book of Malachi was never intended to be instruction to the New Testament church? All the ordinances in Malachi (including tithing) were nailed to Jesus' cross, according to Colossians chapter 2? Tithing is part of the Law according to Matt. 23: 23, Malachi 3: 7, and Hebrews 7: 18? The practice of tithing, the Law, can expose you to the curse of the Law causing incurable sicknesses, debt, death, and many other problems, according to the Apostle Paul in Galatians 3: 10? The practice of tithing actually removes you from the state of grace and places you back the category of sinner? Hebrews 5: 4 Tithing causes you to frustrate the grace of God, and causes Christ to profit you nothing? Galatians 2: 21 and 5: 2 Making tithing a practicetoday actually causes the New Testament to become another gospel according to Paul in Galatians 1: 6? Order The Great Tithing Scam today and find out what else tithing will or won't do.

Church Schools Public Money

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

"Parochiaid" - any form of direct or indirect aid to parochial and other nonpublic elementary and secondary schools - has given rise to the most enduring, bitter, and important controversy in the history of American education and church-state relations. Edd Doerr and Albert J. Menendez, examining and critiquing the attitudes and activities of federal, state, and local government regarding parochiaid, offer a searing indictment of the resurgent drive to support sectarian schools wtih tax dollars. Concentrating on the last five decades, during which the parochiaid lobbies have gained in influence, the authors reveal that lawmakers in forty-two states have increased tax support of church schools to more than $1 billion per year - despite the fact that voters have rejected such aid in seventeen of eighteen statewide referenda held since 1966. Church Schools and Public Money includes a state-by-state survey of the most generous giveaways; revealing statistics on nonpublic school enrollments; and an examination of the biases taught by sectarian schools, particularly those operated by Protestant fundamentalists. The authors skillfully summarize the case against parochiaid and uncover the faulty reasoning of its advocates. According to Doerr and Menendez, the sectarian special interests and their political allies threaten democratic public education and the constitutional separation of church and state.

When Texas Prison Scams Religion

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

When Texas Prison Scams Religion exposes corruption in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, especially in the abuse of religion. In many ways, this book is a literature review of 1,800-plus works that defends freedom of conscience in prison while exposing the unconstitutionality of the seminary program that “buys faith with favor” from prisoners. The state veritably ordains the prisoner a “Field Minister” that represents the offices of the Governor, TDCJ Director, and wardens throughout the prison. Therein, TDCJ lies about neutrality in a program all about Christian missions and lies again in falsely certifying elementary Bible students as counselors. Why is the director sponsoring psychopaths counseling psychopaths? In fact, TDCJ pays $314 million a year to UTMB for psychiatric care and receives not a single report of the care given, and worse, for UTMB generates no reports itself. The underbelly TDCJ’s executive culture of cover up is exposed. TDCJ has hired the lowest qualified of the applicant pool many times in the last 25 years and regularly destroys statistics on violence. TDCJ Dir. Collier led the prison to model Louisiana Warden Burl Cain, the most scandal-ridden in penal history according to a host of published news stories for 20 years. Therein, Collier led TDCJ to favor the smallest segment of religious society within Evangelical Dominionism. Texas has no business endorsing the truth of any religion over another. We close with a proposal that utilizes the 400,000,000 hours of officer contact over ten years as a definitive influence in contrast to a commissioner that spends less than 10 minutes on each decision. Maness has been lobbying Austin for 15 years to definitively access staff for his “100,000 Mothers’ 1% Certainty Parole Texas Constitutional Amendment,” which would revolutionize prison culture and save Texans millions of the dollars.
