BOOK EXCERPT:

The Earth lies in ruins in the aftermath of an invasion, the land devastated by an intergalactic war where neither side won. The seas are drying up while the atmosphere corrodes and slowly cooks all remaining life on the now desolate rock. Few survivors remain, but one of them is Lucas, an ordinary man hardened by the last few years after the world's end. He's fought off bandits, murderers, and stranded creatures on his long trek across the country in search of his family. What he finds instead is hope, something thought lost in the world. There's a ship buried in a crater wall. One of theirs. One that works. To fly it, Lucas must join forces with a traitorous alien scientist and a captured, merciless raider named Asha. Their perilous journey fighting savage men and creatures alike takes them across the remains of the planet and far out into the stars to...where exactly? Lucas has to live long enough to find out.

BOOK EXCERPT:

The Last Exodus is recognized as the finest study yet written of the Jewish dissident movement in the Soviet Union. The author explains how and why a Soviet Jewish underground came into existence, who has led it, what techniques it has used, and how it has grown and spread in a country where only a few years ago such defiance would have been viewed as impossible.

BOOK EXCERPT:

This collection of short stories is about the traumatic and heart wrenching experiences of a community that was hounded out of their motherland of nearly five thousand years. The only apparent reason was, that they belonged to a different faith and refused to convert. Many of them had nowhere to go, and were forced to live in refugee camps. The unhygienic conditions in the camps, the hostile weather, the unsympathetic and callous attitudes of the state machinery and the public at large, added to their woes. It was the holocaust of a different type. Although there were neither concentration camps, nor gas chambers, but living in those tents when the temperature would go up to fifty degree Celsius, was no less traumatic and tortuous. There are no appropriate words to describe the hardships that this self-respecting community had to face. Their disillusionment and deprivation; pain and agony, helplessness and frustration, torture and torment; their unceremonious exit from their homeland; the severing of their roots, and the loss of their beliefs and faith threw them into a stupor. This collection of short stories raises these questions in their poignancy.
