BOOK EXCERPT:
Divorce rates are at an all time high. This does not have to be. Texts from the Bible, Torah and Koran give definitive rules on how to have a long and happy marriage. Tied In A Knot describes God's rules for marital bliss as taken from the Holy Bible. Marriage should be fun, exciting and satisfying, as well as provide a quality family atmosphere. Written not by a scholar, preacher or psychologist, but by a man who has lived forty-five years with the same wife, practicing these rules. You will learn God's plan for husband and wife and how following His rules will work in your marriage.

BOOK EXCERPT:
First Published in 1954, Prosperity and Parenthood is a study of Victorian middle-class ideas about the standard of living, marriage, and the responsibilities of family life. The book begins by tracing the fall in fertility in the 1870s to a change in the middle-class conception of parenthood and goes on to show that the standard of living considerably expanded during the period of great prosperity, roughly 1850 to 1870. The author also gives a detailed study of what the middle classes considered appropriate for a civilized existence and ends by considering the “Great Depression” as a possible factor attacking the actual level of living and making it possible for the middle classes to maintain established standards only by cutting down the size of their families. This is an important historical reference work for students and scholars of sociology, sociology of family, British sociology, social history, and medical sociology.

BOOK EXCERPT:
In 2006, a million couples stood before a pastor, or a justice of the peace and committed themselves to each other in matrimony. Studies show there are two-million additional couples planning on doing the same. For the vast majority, their wedding day has been given a lot of thought and preparation. Their hope is that their wedding day would fulfill all the hopes and expectations they hold for that day. Before We Tie The Knot addresses a few of the issues that couples tend to overlook, things that may have gone unnoticed. The intention of the author is to help couples get everything out of their wedding day they had hoped for, and more. And to share just a little insight from the thirty-seven years as a pastor, conducting wedding ceremonies and some of the good and not so good decisions couples have made along the way. So get a cup of coffee, find a comfortable chair, get a note pad and sit down with a pastor that loves to talk with couples about marriage and making the most of their wedding day.
