BOOK EXCERPT:
It is every parent's worst nightmare when a child goes missing. Nothing is more important to a mother and father than their child’s safety and welfare. While parents can’t protect them 24/7, the least they can do is educate their child so they can protect themselves when there is a potential threat. Author Diana Trepkov offers safety rules and words of wisdom for children in her sequel storybook called Daisy the Safety Chihuahua's Words of Wisdom for Children. This picture book introduces Daisy, who might look like an ordinary Chihuahua, but is actually a wise and safety Chihuahua. She teaches children how to stay safe by sharing important safety rules that are smart and easy to remember. She also shares the "10 Laws of Success" including the importance of integrity: "Don't pretend to be someone you are not. Be proud of who you are." Along with other essential beliefs that children should learn to become successful. The author shares, “A wish I have deep within myself, is to protect as many children as possible. I would like to help ease the pain that I have witnessed in families’ eyes who have missing loved ones. This is written from my heart and through my eyes, the eyes of a forensic artist.” In Daisy's first book called I’m Daisy the Safety Chihuahua, colourful photographs, detailed illustrations, important safety tips and fun activities are all wrapped up in one fun package. Children of all ages will treasure this book of wisdom, inspiration, safety rules, and assurance through their journey in life. This adorable safety children's book will also appeal to the child in everyone.

BOOK EXCERPT:
Even good parents often underestimate the dangers their children face. Research indicates that one in four females and one in six males are sexually abused before age 18. In most cases, the enemy is not a faceless stranger; it's someone you know and trust--a neighbor, a coach, or even a family member. This book provides practical steps to ensure you're doing all you can to reduce the risks of abuse. But since you cannot be with your children 24/7, it goes beyond what you can do as a parent to teach you how to increase your child's own awareness and strategies in the face of potential dangers--without making them fearful. Dr. Robinson, whose decades-long practice focuses on abused and endangered children, calls on her own case studies to show age- appropriate conversation starters for parents, teaching them how to ask the right questions and provide the right boundaries. This book will help you move from fear to confidence on this heavy topic that is just too important to ignore.

BOOK EXCERPT:
This practice-oriented book provides a model of intervention for sexually abused children. Its approach is that intervention strategy should be based on child-generated information. Models of intervention based on adult-generated information are ineffective - simply because children do not have the cognitive capability of utilising such strategies to prevent or stop abuse. In contrast, therapeutic strategies presented in this text emphasising child-generated information enable the clinician to assess and understand the vulnerability of sexually abused children in regards To Their Cognitive Level Of Understanding And Their Emotional Reactions.; The book guides mental health professionals to: acquire information about what and how children think about adults, in general, and perpetrators in particular; inventory children's own strategies for responding to perpetrators; document children's underlying logic for the strategies they identify; and use the information provided by children to guide the selection of treatment and prevention techniques.; After the introduction of the topic, the book moves on to a discussion of the correlates of child sexual abuse. Information on a systematic research endeavour examining victim vulnerability is then presented, as well as children's responses to perpetrators. Other chapters focus on the Burkhardt child- generated model of sexual abuse intervention and procedures for assessment. Finally, the appendix provides a description of educational and psychological materials on child sexual abuse which can be used for prevention and intervention.
