The 2015 volume of Theatre History Studies presents a collection of five critical essays examining the intersection of theatre studies and historiography as well as twenty-five book reviews highlighting recent scholarship in this thriving field.

Czasopismo jest również źródłem informacji o aktualnie prowadzonych badaniach, projektach, organizowanych konferencjach i nowościach wydawniczych, których tematyka dotyczy oral history. Wrocławski Rocznik Historii Mówionej znajduje się w bazach: The Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, The Central and Eastern European Online Library oraz w Bazie Czasopism Humanistycznych i Społecznych, oraz w European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences (ERIH PLUS). The result of collaborative research from noteworthy dramatists and scholars, this volume investigates the dynamic relationship between culture, performance and theatre in Iran. The studies gathered here examine how various forms of performances, especially theatre, have and continue to undergo change in response to shifting political and social settings from the antiquity to the present day. The analysis in this book focuses on performance practices, examining drama, texts, rituals, plays, music, cinema and drama technologies. This is done in order to show how Iran has been imagined through enactments and representations, and reproduced through these performative actions. The book uses a wider definition of the concept of 'performance', offering analysis of a wide range of phenomena, including indigenous rituals – such as the naqqali and taziyeh – and online performances by diaspora communities.

In the general section, three essays offer an array of insights, methods, and provocations. In the special section on care, contributors capture their experience as scholars, humans, and citizens in 2022. In Part III, the 2022 Robert A. Schanke Research Award-winning paper by Heidi L. Nees asks historians to rethink Western constructions of time. Taken together, volume 42 captures how this journal serves theatre historians as scholars and laborers as they work to attend and tend to their field.
