Understanding God S Government

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

"Understanding God's Government" dares to explore the nature of government at all levels - its pyramidal, hierarchical structure - within civil, religious, business, military, and social spheres, and then dissect the motivations behind their leaders. It is discovered that fear is usually the prime motivator that leaders use to gain and maintain control. The Creator's intended form of government for mankind, however, is a brotherhood based upon lateral relationships of love and concern for one's fellow man. The author delves into Biblical and secular sources to elucidate the nature of today's governments, elements of Godly government, ideal government within the ecclesia, forms of government that work, and their consequences. Additional articles are included, by former presidential candidate Harry Browne, Herbert W. Armstrong, James Lloyd, Norman Edwards, and the author. Learn why future government holds so much promise within this war-torn, unstable world.

God S Mysteries And Paradoxes Looking Through The Glass Darkly

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

God's Mysteries and Paradoxes: Looking through the Glass Darkly is a book about paradoxes and how they were actually created by God to bring unique enlightenment but also to confound the so-called earthly wisdom. Paradoxes also keep believers humble by showing them that God's ways are not always man's ways. "For this is what the high and lofty One says he who lives forever, whose name is holy; I live in a high and holy place but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite (Isaiah 57: 15)." This book introduces the reader to the ancient idea of "The Divine Paradox" written by Hermes Tristmegistus (thrice great) in The Divine Pylander. An additional book, Corpus Hermeticum, was translated by Marsilo Ficino during the early Renaissance and helps frame the philosophical paradox of nature versus faith. This book, along with other fragments written by Hermes Trismegistus, was translated in the early 1400s and caused a rebirth of its teachings during the Renaissance. Modern secret societies and the occult are using much of the same knowledge to deceive people in the world today. Evidence shows Albertus Magnus, Roger Bacon, and the Knights Templar possessed ancient knowledge and from it gave rise to secret organizations and societies operating today, including the Illuminati, Freemasons, and modern occultists.

God Betrayed

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

God Betrayed explains: (1) the biblical principles concerning government, church, and separation of church and state which one needs to know in order to understand the First Amendment and why it was adopted; (2) the history of the theological warfare in the colonies that eventually resulted in the adoption of the First Amendment; (3) how and why, soon after the ratification of the Constitution and the First Amendment, many churches subjected themselves to the state; (4) how the Supreme Court has used the First Amendment religion clause to remove God from practically all civil government affairs; (5) how civil government entices many churches to abandon their Supernatural and First Amendment freedoms; and (6) how churches in America can operate totally under God and free from any control by civil government. After graduating from college in 1970 and serving as an army officer in the Viet Nam conflict, Jerald Finney worked for the railroad and then started and operated a photography studio in Fort Worth, Texas. He was saved in 1982. God called him to enter the legal profession. He entered the University of Texas School of Law in 1990, and was licensed to practice law in 1993. Since that time, the Lord has guided his career. In 2005, he became lead counsel for the Biblical Law Center. This book is the result of his in depth studies of the issue of separation of church and state, the main issue which is addressed by the Biblical Law Center.

Understanding The Constitution

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Little by little, the freedoms envisioned by our Founding Fathers and those who struggled for independence are being stripped away. The best guarantee that America's constitutional liberties will continue to be protected is to ensure that all citizens, and especially our children, clearly understand both what those freedoms are and who it is that gave them to us in the first place. This book explains: · The biblical basis upon which America was founded · The influence of Sir William Blackstone and English common law on America’s legal system · The miracle that happened at the Constitutional Convention · The U.S. Constitution, including all the amendments, as well as several popular amendments that failed to be ratified · The methods that have been used to vastly expand the federal government’s power since the Constitution’s drafting. It also examines why John Adams, the second President of the United States, would write what he did in 1798, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." The book is a response to the challenge from one of our nation’s great modern presidents, President Ronald Reagan, issued on October 27, 1964: "You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children's children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done." God As Father In Paul

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

God as Father in Paul explores Paul's use of the kinship term "Father" to refer to God, along with related familial terms ("children" of God and Christ-followers as "brothers and sisters"), as part of a study of the use of kinship language in the identity formation of early Christianity. Mengestu argues that these kinship terms are shared modes of identity constructions within the wider textual and cultural settings (the Roman Empire, the Roman Stoic philosophers, the Hebrew Bible, and ancient Jewish literature) from which Paul draws on as well as contests. Employing theoretical (kinship and social identity theory) as well as interpretative approaches (imperial critical and narrative approaches to Paul), he contends that Paul uses God as Father consistently, strategically, and purposefully, in both stable and crisis situations, to develop a narrative, orienting framework(s) that images the community of Christ-followers as a family that belongs to God, who, together with the Lord Jesus Christ, bestows on them equal but diverse membership in the family. The narrative so constructed forms the foundation for referring to Christ-followers as "children of God" and "brothers and sisters" of one another. It constructs boundaries and serves as nexus of transformation and negotiation.
