The title Watchman! Watchman! What of the Night? was selected on the basis of the soon-to-unfold Great Tribulation Period (GTP). The purpose of the title is to attract an interest in the reply that the watchman gave: "I see the dawn coming, and also a Night!" It is this approaching "Night" that the watchman saw-which represents the judgments of God and the wrath of man that will unfold during the GTP. In essence the GTP will last for seven years- "the last week" in Daniel's prophecy that concludes "the 367 weeks" upon the Children of Israel. There is a strong indication that "this Night," which horrified the watchman, is likely to commence anytime between mid-2023 AD and mid-2025 AD. It was a dark and stormy night, the kind that sent shivers down your spine and made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. The patter of rain on the windows was like a drumbeat signaling something sinister lurking in the shadows. In the small town of Oakwood, nestled deep in the heart of the forest, the only sound that could be heard was the howling wind and the occasional crack of thunder. Jake, the night watchman of Oakwood, stood at the edge of town, his gaze fixed on the looming treeline. He was a tall, imposing man with a weathered face and a steely gaze that seemed to pierce through the darkness. But tonight, even his resolve was shaken. Something was different. The air felt thicker, charged with an energy that made his skin crawl. As he made his way down Main Street, the shadows seemed to dance and twist around him, whispering secrets that chilled him to the bone. The streetlamps flickered, their light faltering as if being smothered by an unseen force. Jake tightened his grip on his lantern, its flame wavering precariously. "Who's there?" he called out, his voice echoing in the empty street. Only silence answered him, a silence so profound it seemed to swallow his words. Then, a figure materialized from the mist. It was a woman, dressed in a long, flowing gown that billowed in the wind. Her hair was dark as midnight, and her eyes shone like twin stars in the darkness.

This book of poetry is about life's spiritual journey, and encounter with God. How we know God through the Holy Spirit and how we re-act to His presence. It's about how we see life's different seasons, and inner reflections regarding our spiritual in-sights. It answers some of life's questions. Mary Ellen Boyd Piacenti was born in Greene County, Indiana in 1944. Her ancestors came from Scotland in the 1700's. During her elementary years she attended a one room school and also a one room country church which is still in use today. She met and married a military man and moved to Illinois in 1964, where she presently resides. She was a homemaker there for many years, and it was during this time that she wrote most of her poetry. She worked as a teacher's assistant for five years, and also a Sunday school teacher. Mary Ellen and her husband Del are the parents of two sons, two daughters, six grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
