BOOK EXCERPT:
Life it seems is hell-bent on crushing Eva Chapman. Starting with the tragic loss of her brother, for which she is solely to blame, to the unfortunate turn of events that have landed her where she is now; on her knees, hiding behind the counter at a hole-in-the-wall bookstore, in a small town in the middle of nowhere, with local police in hot pursuit. This was not the life she'd imagined for herself. And no amount of imagination or self-destructive behavior could ease this pain. Running is all she has now. Fresh out grad-school, psych-degree in hand, and here he is manning the local coffee-shop/bookstore in his hometown of Pride. Rafe had never felt more a-drift and confused. The truth is, he'd never really thought this far ahead, and until his sister returns from her post-2nd-divorce-meltdown-vacation this will have to do, that is, if he can survive the boredom. He did kind of enjoy the relaxing tourist vibe and routine flux of interesting local eccentrics in and out the shop every day, but it was the gorgeous hot mess that just dove over his counter that really caught his attention!

BOOK EXCERPT:
Using insightful teachings as well as beautifully described real-life experiences, the stories in In Love, Where I Belong weave together the profound reality that God’s love is for everyone, not just the “super-spiritual,” and that we all have a place where we belong—in His heart. Author Brenda VanWinkle knows what it’s like to be shackled to fear and loneliness. She also knows the sweet triumph of overcoming and finding genuine peace in the Lord. Her early childhood, though idyllic in spots, was also marred by the death of her mother. Over time, however, the discovery of God’s love for her washed away the insecurities. Today, she ministers with her husband, repairing broken relationships around the world.

BOOK EXCERPT:
There are guns and bandits in this story and supermodels and there's drought and starvation too. Are you wondering how they can all come together? Well, that's how life is these days. Things don't happen neatly, in separate little places. We're all caught by the great spider's web of media that spans the world. That's where the story is set. The world. It's the story of Abdi and Khadija and Freya (that's me) and what happened to us because of Somalia...
