BOOK EXCERPT:
A desire and demand to know more about the Jewish legacy of Christian identity is growing among laity. A similar desire to foster interfaith understanding and dialogue is growing among leaders of local churches. Why Is There a Menorah on the Altar? seeks to meet these demands by providing information and insight about Judaism’s legacy as it is revealed in Christian rites, rituals, and traditions. Drawing upon scripture and historical sources, this book explains how Judaism has influenced the structure of liturgical worship; the design and décor of church sanctuaries; and how Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation find their roots in Judaism. This book invites readers to develop a deeper understanding of Judaism, one that will enrich their Christianity and appreciation for their enduring Jewish heritage. Includes: questions for reflection; activities for individuals or groups; and easy-to-follow timelines.

BOOK EXCERPT:
Is Torah mystical… or rational, just like God’s natural laws? It’s time a book unveiled the truth. Is Torah like all other religions: incomprehensible mysticism, as Kabbalists suggest…or perfectly rational? Religion of Reason not only unveils widespread “Jewish” mystical beliefs as false, but true Torah insights are presented in their rational form…just like God’s natural laws. No powers exist besides God. And as Ibn Ezra writes, God prohibits belief in mysticism, for reasons you will learn. Talmudic and Torah sections are explained metaphorically as our Rishonim say they must be understood, offering astonishing and pleasing insights. Finally, Jews can understand the falsehoods they have accepted and abandon them in place of true Torah, gaining a deep appreciation for God’s wisdom.

BOOK EXCERPT:
This volume engages diverse topics such as art, music, and radio broadcasting in the development of modern Jewish nationalism by leading scholars in their respective fields. It contains richly detailed studies that challenge existing historiography--from personal struggles with nationalism, to the lesser-known origins of the Balfour Declaration, from boisterous demonstrations on the streets of pre-World War I Galicia, to skirmishes between Jews in present-day Jerusalem. It examines how nationalism has worked in theory and practice for Jews and at times been fiercely resisted. Beginning with the memory of Theodor Herzl and his cohort at the London Zionist Congress of 1900, this book revisits the wider scene of Zionism's emergence, as we explore the imagination of, and the attempted national mobilization of Jewry throughout the twentieth century. Contributors include: Delphine Bechtel; Nachman Ben-Yehuda; Michael Berkowitz; Inka Bertz; Philip Bohlman; John M. Efron; Richard A. Freund; Francois Guesnet; Michael Löwy; Barbara Mann; Derek Penslar; James Renton; Aviel Roshwald; Joshua Shanes.

BOOK EXCERPT:
The Holy Bible. What is it? It is God's love letter to humanity. This is a very shortened version to show that Jesus Christ is the subject of the entire Bible. He is real, we don't need to invent any more Super heroes because He is THE ONE. All the Patriarchs at the beginning of the book as well as the prophets that feature later are all talking and living out aspects of the life of Jesus Christ so that when He was here He constantly referred to "It is written" as the reason for Him doing something because it was important to Him being able to save the human race from its own self-destruction. They are mentioned by name as having done something which they did not realise the significance of at the time. We can only understand things backwards but life has to be lived forwards. Jesus wants to save everyone but we shut ourselves out by the silly things we do. I sincerely hope that you find the love and peace He offers to you in His book.
