Well, Jesus suffered. My suffering began as a child and continued into my adulthood. Well, God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son. Jesus suffered while going to the cross, and on the cross now He sits on the throne. I suffered on into adulthood, and afterward, yet I still live, so why not tell my story? I want others to know God is a forgiving god, and all they have to do is repent and depart from their evil and wicked ways. Yes, you can tell what you endured and how God brought you through it. I'm blessed to have made it by the grace and mercy of God. Jesus suffered, and I and others have suffered also. Some didn't live to tell their story, and some couldn't read or write, some could not afford it, and some didn't have the courage. I'm glad gave me the courage. I believe in Him for He cannot lie. God is love, and I plan to live and love forevermore.

This is a true story, a series of events that transpired in my life which I deemed necessary to expose and by so doing alert others to vigilance. Naturally, the subject matter is sensitive both for me and all parties involved. I can never discount the relevance of demons, deny their reality and their harassing ways. If and when I was to do so, I would magnify the role of human agents. Frequently, even mature Christians underestimate the magnitude of the spiritual warfare enlisted in from the time of the new birth. We are in a severe struggle, persistently and subtly driven by powerful, spiritual opposing forces beyond our comprehension. Often we rely on human resources and fail to use the spiritual source available to us through the power of the Holy Spirit. I fell in the fourth generation of my maternal fore-parents’ lineage to suffer unnecessary heartbreaking consequences because of spiritual ignorance. Since I came to see “the light” of Jesus Christ, I made up my mind to loose all yokes of bondage over my generation and the ones to come after me should Christ tarry. I now know demonic spirits are to be kept afar and never be trusted. Even though at times through subtlety we may be deceived to think that certain spirits work for the good and well-being of a person, such deception should be seen as a trap, a means of securing the individual into a mesh. Sooner or later, such individual will be caught unaware and conquered. It should never be a surprise how the Devil, the starch enemy of the saints, will use anyone, “foe” and often those who would be considered “ally,” to win a person over to cause him to fall. This article originally appeared in the January 1913 issue of Trust, a magazine produced by Elim Publishing House in Rochester, New York, founded by Mrs. Elizabeth V. Baker (1849-1915) and her three sisters. The magazine’s staff box lists Miss S.A. Duncan and Mrs. E.V. Baker as the editors and Mr. O.R. Hubbell as the treasurer. Trust magazine was published monthly from 1902 to 1932 “in the interests of Elim Faith Work and Bible Training School and also to emphasize their idea of Biblical prophecy emphasizing the return of the Lord as imminent, and the consequent Latter Rain Outpouring, now manifested in the earth as a preparation for that event. James 5:7, 8.” Trust magazine ceased publication in 1932.

The content of this book has the intent to somehow expose the nature of God and his unparalleled ability to laugh. God's initial purpose and the most visible reason for God laughing in contrast to scripture is really only displayed for one reason, and that is when he makes fun and laughs at the calamity of the unrighteous because he sees that their day is coming for recompense and retribution. However, in conjunction with God laughing at the wicked in regards to their sinister plots to eradicate God's choice people, God also displays a sense of humor when he deals divinely and sovereignly with his children even though his sense of humor is oftentimes dry. It's God's unique humor nonetheless. However, it is this godly sense of humor that periodically leaves us, his children, chuckling at his ideologies, his peculiar way of doing things.
