This book is a result of ISD2000-The Ninth International Conference on Infor mation Systems Development: Methods and Tools, Theory and Practice, held August 14-16, in Kristiansand, Norway. The ISD conference has its roots in the first Polish Scandinavian Seminar on Current Trends in Information Systems Development Method ologies, held in Gdansk, Poland in 1988. This year, as the conference carries into the new millennium this fine tradition, it was fitting that it returned to Scandinavia. Velkommen tilbake! Next year, ISD crosses the North Sea and in the traditions of the Vikings, invades England. Like every ISD conference, ISD2000 gave participants an opportunity to express ideas on the current state of the art in information systems development, and to discuss and exchange views about new methods, tools and applications. This is particularly important now, since the field of ISD has seen rapid, and often bewildering, changes. To quote a Chinese proverb, we are indeed cursed, or blessed, depending on how we choose to look at it, to be "living in interesting times".

The integration of applied intelligence with software has been an essential enabler for science and the new economy, creating new possibilities for a more reliable, flexible and robust society. But current software methodologies, tools, and techniques often fall short of expectations, and are not yet sufficiently robust or reliable for a constantly changing and evolving market. This book presents the proceedings of SoMeT_22, the 21st International Conference on New Trends in Intelligent Software Methodology Tools, and Techniques, held from 20 - 22 September 2022 in Kitakyushu, Japan. The SoMeT conference provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and experience in the field of software technology, with the emphasis on human-centric software methodologies, end-user development techniques, and emotional reasoning for optimal performance. The 58 papers presented here were each carefully reviewed by 3 or 4 referees for technical soundness, relevance, originality, significance and clarity, they were then revised before being selected by the international reviewing committee. The NTCA conference series is dedicated to publishing peer-reviewed proceedings of the conference. The goal is to disseminate state-of the- art scientific results available in the domain of civil aviation. These proceedings contain a collection of scientific contributions to the NTCA 2017 conference, which took place in Prague from 7-8 December 2017 and was hosted by the Department of Air Transport, Czech Technical University in Prague with the cooperation of the Faculty of Aeronautics, Technical University of Košice; Institute of Aerospace Engineering, Brno University of Technology; Air Transport Department, University of Žilina, and the Czech Aerospace Society. The NTCA conference aims to build and extend a platform for interaction between communities interested in aviation problems and applications. NTCA 2017 followed this established practice and provided room for discussing and sharing views on the current issues in the field of aviation. This volume comprises papers from the 18th Conference on Systems Engineering Research (CSER). The theme of this volume, “Recent Trends and Advances in Model-Based Systems Engineering,” reflects the fact that systems engineering is undergoing a transformation motivated by mission and system complexity and enabled by technological advances such as model-based systems engineering, digital engineering, and the convergence of systems engineering with other disciplines.
