In this study, the Environmental Management Systems (EMS) of four selected industries in Lagos State: Chi Limited, Emzor Pharmaceuticals, Jawa International Limited and Promasidor Nigeria Limited were assessed using parameters such as background information, environmental policy, policy objectives and targets, employee's responsibilities and roles, environmental management audit, document and communication, monitoring and recording, training, ISO 14001 Certification, and environmental performance.
