This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 4th Symposium of the Norwegian AI Society, NAIS 2022, held in Oslo, Norway, during May 31–June 1, 2022. The 11 full papers included in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 17 submissions. They were organized in topical sections as follows: robotics and intelligent systems; ai in cyber and digital sphere; ai in biological applications and medicine; and towards new ai methods. Cybersecurity refers to the set of technologies, practices, and strategies designed to protect computer systems, networks, devices, and data from unauthorized access, theft, damage, disruption, or misuse. It involves identifying and assessing potential threats and vulnerabilities, and implementing controls and countermeasures to prevent or mitigate them. Some major risks of a successful cyberattack include: data breaches, ransomware attacks, disruption of services, damage to infrastructure, espionage and sabotage. Cybersecurity Risk Management: Enhancing Leadership and Expertise explores this highly dynamic field that is situated in a fascinating juxtaposition with an extremely advanced and capable set of cyber threat adversaries, rapidly evolving technologies, global digitalization, complex international rules and regulations, geo-politics, and even warfare. In any business, the essential element for the successful use of data processing is training. This represents the largest expense both at start-up and as CAD impacts design office procedures other than drafting. Training is also the most difficult cost item to quantify. Even more than the equip ment, training - or retraining in the case of professionals in practice - is the key to increased productivity. Recommendations for specific programs of training are beyond the scope of this paper. Once staff has been retrained to work at higher levels of productivity with data processing equipment, they are more valuable. They will be more difficult to replace. Their new capabilities represent a significant invest ment in modernization, both to the individual design office and to the design profession as a whole. There is a shortage of qualified people with both professional and computer skills. Competition among employers for people with these skills already exists and will probably continue into the foreseeable future. At the outset of training, an employment agreement is worth consider ing for the well-being of all parties.

This timely Handbook explores the relationship between public policy and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies across a broad range of geographical, technical, political and policy contexts. It contributes to critical AI studies, focusing on the intersection of the norms, discourses, policies, practices and regulation that shape AI in the public sector.

The Nordic Model of Digital Archiving explores the roots and strengths of Nordic digital archiving and proposes new directions to guide digital archivists in addressing the challenges posed by ever- changing digital technologies and the datafication of information and records. Digitization and born-digital records promise efficient and cost-effective solutions to everything from preservation of data to easy user access. However, digitization also poses challenges for archival practitioners worldwide. Bringing together contributions from practitioners and academics to offer a range of international case studies, this book offers practical solutions for archivists in terms of governance, technologies and processes. It highlights and analyses the cornerstones of the Nordic model of archiving: reliance on standards; powerful regulatory instruments -, especially in public sector archiving, including legislation; and collaboration between archivists and government agencies, and among different tiers of central and local government.
