SARAH FROGGATT has had a keen interest in writing, telling short stories and poetry since she was at school. She now applies her interest by reading and narrating her own brand of stories to her children, nieces and nephews. She advocates storytelling and reading as an exercise in imagination for the brain. She encourages her children to participate in her stories and help design the outcome; many of her stories incorporate ideas and characters from them. As well as writing and conducting business research, she has an active interest in teaching, history, art, language and the environment. Sarah combines her passions into using stories and poetry as a medium to impart knowledge to her readers as well as generate an interest in learning. Besides learning, her books also encourage concern and conservancy for the ecological environment. The Joint Indo-U.S. Balloon Flight Program was conducted at Hyderabad, India, from February through April, 1961. A complete report of all phases of this international, cooperative effort is presented, including the details of the balloon flight operations, the preliminary scientific results achieved, and an evaluation of the over-all accomplishments of the program. In additiono the contribution of heretofore un available data on the equatorial stratosphere, the operational success of the program demon strated the feasibility of performing recoverable high-altitude balloon flights in the tropical latitudes.
