Who would have ever thought a shiny new 1965 Mustang would start us on a journey through life? Only four years earlier she was in junior high, then God stepped in and started working his plan. Our journey has taken us through the deepest valleys and atop the highest mountains. A journey of joy and a journey of heartache. Our journey has taken us places where we didn't know where we were supposed to be until we got there. I will never forget the smile on her face, the twinkle in her eyes and the giggle in her laugh when she came home from the doctor! Richard, I am pregnant, we are going to have a baby! She was perfect! She was beautiful, I just held her and cried, then reality set it, I was a father! Calls in the middle of the night have always frightened me. When the phone rang at 4:00 a.m. on May 1, 1969, I awoke in a state of confusion and fear! The call turned our whole world upside down!

I want my heart to stop beating because I just got the call no mother wants to get. The call that screams your child is gone. He was 42 years old, but he was my baby. The words echo suddenly, He is gone. I scream, No. We spoke just a few hours earlier. Make him come back, Jesus! You can do it. Its only a few hours. Oh God, turn back time. Once a true optimist and strong believer, I find my faith in God shaken to the core. I blame myself, I want to hurt myself, and I want to die. I hold my breath to stop my life, but I keep on breathing. I pound my chest to stop my heart, but it keeps on beating. How can that be when it is so shattered? I exist, just exist, like an empty car, misfiring on all cylinders and careening out of control downhill. : I dont want to live. Yet I wake up every morning with guilt and grief so heavy, why wont it kill me? Why wont God let me die? Why did He save Abrahams son? Why did he raise Lazarus? Did He love them more than me? Is this a punishment for my sins, for being bad all my life? Is my son in heaven with Jesus? Will I ever be able to see him again? Does God hear me? Does He even exist? The questions haunt me. I must search for answers in the junk pile of my life or I cannot go on.

This book is all the sermons I heard coming from the pulpit of the Church. Messages from the sermons could mean many things to people according to each person’s walk with God, meaning in all theses there is always a still voice of the Holy Spirit who speaks specifically to current situation and or your walk with God according to the purpose in which God has called you. I always had a desire in my heart to share that word of God to people who wants to hear him. I know with reading of this book you will be edified. There is no meaning to life unless it is purpose driven. Have a fulfilled life as he speaks to you as he did with me. We must learn to listen to that still voice of God. Our life is not our own but for others who God places in our life. This book will help those who are searching their God given purpose. It will also help as a guide to Christians or Preachers who need guidance to preach the word of God. We are all not perfect including me.
